The Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IOER), Dresden and the University of Westminster, London are planning closer cooperation. This is the outcome of a series of meetings between representatives of the two institutions. A first success is in sight: the joint application for the Leverhulme Trust network project “Tomorrow’s City Today – An International Comparison of Eco-City Frameworks” has been accepted.
Further project applications and joint publications are to follow. Cooperation is planned on topics such as resource and energy efficiency, smart growth, sustainability indicators, and the governance of environmental risks. Cooperation has also been agreed on promoting young researchers and research visits between the two institutions.
