Human chain around the city centre

On 13th February - the anniversary of Dresden’s destruction 73 years ago - the citizens commemorate the victims of war. An important part of this annual event is the formation of a human chain around the city centre. The human chain is both an appeal for non-violence, for humanity and for peace as well as a symbolic protection against the misappropriation of the commemorations by radical forces.

Dear DRESDEN-concept colleagues,
Dear members of staff of DRESDEN-concept,

On 13th February - the anniversary of Dresden’s destruction 73 years ago - the citizens commemorate the victims of war.  An important part of this annual event is the formation of a human chain around the city centre. The human chain is both an appeal for non-violence, for humanity and for peace as well as a symbolic protection against the misappropriation of the commemorations by radical forces.

I would like to invite you to participate and to pass this invitation to anyone else who may be interested. The human chain event will start 5pm at the Neues Rathaus, Goldene Pforte (New City Hall, Golden Gate).  The participants will then close the human chain at 6pm, accompanied by the chimes of the Dresden church bells.

For further information on the human chain and the events on 13th February 2018 see: https://13.februar.dresden.de

Best regards
